FIRST is the largest and longest running science postdoctoral training program in the country and is a collaboration among Emory, Morehouse, Clark Atlanta, Spelman, and the Morehouse School of Medicine. In 20 years, FIRST has nurtured 200 scientists into the professoriate and science leadership at a rate 25X that of the national average for African-Americans and twice that for women.
